Certimac is an industrial research organisation and test laboratory dedicated to materials, energy and sustainability. It supports industry and public administration in the energy and ecological transition with laboratory services, research and specialised consultancy to enhance the performance of materials, buildings and processes.

It is an Industrial Research Laboratory accredited by the High Technology Network of the Emilia-Romagna Region and a founding member of Clust-ERBUILD for Building and Construction and of Clust-ERGREENTECH for Energy and Sustainability. It is part of the C-HUB and a member of two European networks ECTP (European Construction and Sustainable Built Environment Technology Platform) and UERA (Urban Europe Research Alliance).

Its activities focus on three key areas:

  • Materials: design, engineering and certification of traditional and advanced materials, with over 600 types of tests performed on a wide range of material families.
  • Energy: energy audits, consumption monitoring, consultancy for energy efficiency and energy management, also in the industrial sector.
  • Sustainability: technical support and certification to reduce the environmental impact of products and processes, through an integrated, engineering-driven approach.

Thanks to cross-disciplinary expertise and solid field experience, Certimac contributes to the innovation of materials, buildings and processes, supporting companies as they move towards a more efficient, safe and sustainable future.
